At the age of 12 John won the top prize, gold medal at the Berlingske Tidendes Music Competition in Copenhagen. When he was 13, he won the 1st prize at the V Steinway Piano Competition in Stockholm. The same year he was later elected as a “Young Salomon Musician” by Salomon Smith’s Chamber music association and got to play a winner’s concert in Swedish National Radio. At the age of 15 he won the 1st price again (another age category) at the VI Steinway Piano Competition and was elected as Sweden’s representative for The International Steinway Festival in Laeiszhalle, where he later performed. In 2010, as the 1st prize winner of Buono International Piano Competition in New York, he got to make his Carnegie Hall debut as competition winner. The year after he received the Anders Wall Giresta award, which is one of the most prestigious music awards in Sweden.
His first debut as soloist with orchestra was with Kiev Philharmonic in Ukraine.
John graduated his High School education from Katedralskolan majoring in Natural Science. After ordinary high school John got accepted to Manhattan School of Music where he studied with Dr. Marc Silverman, Dr. Solomon Mikowsky and his assistant Alexandre Moutouzkine.
In 2016 he won the 1st prize at the V Stockholm International Music Competition and became same year a Steinway Artist. The following year he won the top prize in “The Nordic Soloist Competition” after performing final round with Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra.
Recently John has been regularly booked as artist and has performed Mozart Piano Concerto No. 20 in Vienna Konzerthaus and also Liszt Totentanz with Helsingborg Symphony Orchestra. John graduated his bachelor’s & master’s degree in Royal College of Music in Stockholm with Prof. Staffan Scheja and Dr. Johan Fröst. Today John is enrolled in the artist in residence program at Ingesund Piano Center under the guidance of Prof. Julia Mustonen Dahlkvist.
